Bulkley Valley Brewery
1) What makes your brewery stand out?
Our Brewery is a sweet little Cozy Cabin Feel, it was my old Solar Power ski shop that evolved into a Brewery so lots of ski swag and Solar panels power the electricity
2) Dogs or Cats?
Both! I had both my whole life, and loved the Dynamics of each
3) What 5 words describe your brewery?
Fun, Friendly, Home, Rock & Roll
4) You are stranded on an island and you can only have one style of beer...what is it?
What kind of Island ? Haha cold island For sure Stout, warmer island i would Rock a Red
5) Favourite hop to use?
Favourite Hop of mine is the Canadian born and raised Sasquatch hop, but for overall use we lean heavily into the NZ Hops with how they are exploring new flavors so much.
6)What is a hidden gem(business/activity etc.) in your city?
Hidden Business Gem in our town - we are a Northern BC town without a lot of Diversity, recently we had a Afro Caribbean market store open up where we can get awesome spices, gums, treats and shampoos we would Normally never see. Also, Smithers Grind a café just opened in my brewery for mornings featuring all the fancy drinks either locally roasted beans and local treats
7)What is unique about your beer?
Our Brewing style very much runs between the extreme traditional styles following the purity law… to then very extreme experimental. We love trying to showcase new fun beer styles in the North.
8) What turned you on to Craft beer?
Craft beer for me was an evolution, growing up i lived in Guelph Ont, worked at the Sleeman Factory as a young lad for summer job and they allowed you to take away whatever you could carry with your paycheck. So immediately i was drinking a better beer than most 19yr olds. Then i moved to Edmonton and lived close to the Legendary Sherbrooke liquor store and at the time they would let you fill a 6 pack carrier with any of their beers for a base price. So i got to try so many super rare beers from all over the world. It was magical
Awesome vibe to a great little brewery in northwestern BC. Check it out at: https://www.bulkleyvalleybrewery.com/
